The EU’s ambitious Horizon 2020 funding has a total of €79 billion to allocate to projects over the next 7 years. The amount of funding available for 2014 is €7.8 billion. The Irish government has forecast that Ireland will aim to receive €1.25 billion which marks a huge increase from the €600 million received under the FP7 programme.
The upcoming deadline for the SME instrument funding is the 18th June 2014.
In this stage 1 of the instrument SMEs receive funding for a feasibility study with the expected outcome being a business plan. The funding is 70% and the amount is €50,000.
Applications can be submitted by a single SME or together with a European partner.
